The Novel

Winds of Ember

When Nadia Roux returns to the village of her childhood after fifteen years away, she finds it half-buried in ash β€” a wildfire claimed the surrounding hillsides three summers ago. What she didn't expect to find was the man who left without a word, now leading the community's slow rebuild.

A story about what burns away and what somehow endures. About who we become when the scaffolding falls.

About Clara

Clara Moreau

Clara Moreau grew up between Lyon and Montreal, speaking French at home and finding her voice in English. After a decade working as a translator and editor, she left to write the novel that had been living inside her for years.

Her writing is shaped by landscapes β€” the way place imprints itself on memory, and how returning to old ground can surface everything you thought you'd buried. She lives in the south of France with her husband and two children.
